Ahead of the London derby meeting between Spurs and West Ham this weekend, we caught up with a couple of fans for their take on the match...

For the last few years, this has been a one-sided 'derby' which seems to matter a lot more to West Ham fans that it does to anyone around Spurs. However, for once, Sunday afternoon's clash actually holds real significance in the race for a European spot.

Both teams are on the same number of points, sitting fifth and sixth in the league after the Hammers' runaway start which saw them win at Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal, but they're on very different trajectories. The Hammers are starting to slide down the table, Spurs are flying up it.

The importance of the loss of Dimitri Payet can't be overstated either, and the Hammers will look a lot less dangerous at the Lane without him. With arrogance comes embarrassment, but it's hard to look past a comfortable win especially as we are playing home and we can use this to our advantage and get the win.

Score prediction: Spurs 3-1 West Ham

West Ham Fan - Joe Difford

West Ham were unlucky against Spurs last season, losing on the opening day to a 93rd minute Eric Dier winner, and settling for one point in the reverse fixture after Harry Kane netted a penalty in the 96th minute.

This Sunday’s game at White Hart Lane comes at a perfect time for Slaven Bilic’s side, as the international break has given our injury-plagued players more time to recover. However, it will be interesting to see how we cope without star man Dimitri Payet, after a horror challenge from Everton’s James McCarthy ruled him out of action until February.

Tottenham’s Dele Alli will be full of confidence having scored a wonderful goal against France on Tuesday evening and he, Dier and Harry Kane will have benefited from time together with the Three Lions.

Score prediction: This rivalry is always full of passion and it will be a tight game. I am going for a 2-1 to West Ham.
