Sunderland have recorded a loss before tax of £27.9m, latest figures have revealed.

The annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 July, 2010 show losses rose by £1.4m on the previous year. Turnover rose to £65.4m, but investment in the squad in a bid to retain Premier League status pushed the club further into the red.
