Rob Green, the Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper, has admitted he fears West Ham United will struggle to fill the Olympic Stadium in Stratford when they move there in 2016.
Green is full of praise for the progress made at Upton Park under Sam Allardyce but believes it will be a challenge for his former club to sell out the 54,000-capacity stadium.
“How do you know they [supporters] will turn up?” said Green, who opted for a move from the east to the west of the capital in the summer of 2012, having decided against renewing his contract at West Ham after six years at the club.
“It’s difficult in London to attract fans because of other commitments and the expense. There’s a lot more options.”
