Crystal Palace’s search for a new manager continues to limp on with Tim Sherwood the latest frontrunner to have ruled himself out.

Former Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has dropped out of the running amid allegations he sent texts of a racist, sexist and homophobic nature during his time as manager of Cardiff City.

Glenn Hoddle, a shock name in the frame for the job, has also been ruled out after the former England manager turned down an offer from Palace. He was considered to be second in the race despite being out of management for nearly eight years. He was last with Wolves in 2006, but recently returned to football as a first-team coach for QPR after a long spell as a pundit.

The south London club are now being forced to look further afield with Neil Lennon now the bookies’ favourite to take over at Selhurst Park - he wasn’t even in the running last week.

With the front-runners out - who might become the next manager at Crystal Palace?

Here, we take a look at the contenders...

Palace co-owner Steve Parish is understood to be keen to name a replacement as soon as possible.
