Bartley: I won't be overawed tonight

Kyle Bartley hopes to use his Arsenal experience for Rangers against Sporting Lisbon tonight. The 19-year-old is on loan at Ibrox and played a Champions League group tie at Olympiakos in 2009. "I have played in Europe before with Arsenal last season and would not be overawed by the occasion," he said. "European football is different from domestic football. Sides on the continent are very good at retaining possession and not giving away the ball cheaply will be important."

Walter Smith promised to put out a strong side: "We don't enter tournaments to lose them. We want to do as well as we can."

Midfielder Lee McCulloch will be out for most of the season after a knee operation.
