Arsenal transfer latest: Arsene Wenger rules out move for Juan Quintero but says he is 'still open for business' to sign new additions

The Gunners have bought four players this summer

Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move for the Colombian midfielder Juan Quintero, but claims that Arsenal have not concluded their transfer dealings for the summer.

Wenger has signed Alexis Sanchez, Matheiu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers in recent weeks, and while saying that he is "open to do more business", signing Porto's Quintero is not in his plans.

"For weeks we were buying [Mario] Balotelli from one minute to the other and it was all wrong," Wenger told the press today ahead of this weekend's Emirates Cup.

“We were never in for him."

Talking about the reports which surfaced this morning that Quintero was heading to London to complete the switch, Wenger said:

"Maybe he goes somewhere else in London. There are many clubs in London."

Wenger admitted that he is happy with his dealings this summer, but says that the second half of August will be a busy time for transfers because of the timing of the World Cup.

"I'm very happy because I think I did what I wanted and I am still open to do more.

"We are a bit ahead of what we usually do because the availability of the market is bigger and earlier than before.

"The bigger clubs have done their deals earlier and when one starts everybody follows and that’s why it was a bit quicker.

"Many clubs decided to do it before the World Cup and since the World Cup not a lot has happened.

"But I think the second week of August will be busy again.

"Everybody takes a breather at the moment because everybody checks now during their preparation games what they still need.

"People have done the biggest part of what they want to do and the last part will be done after the preparation games once they see what they are missing."
