ARSENAL BOUND...

French defender Loic Perrin has claimed that Arsenal have made contact with him over a possible switch to the Emirates.

The Gunners had already been linked with the 29-year-old, who is valued at about £6m, however this is the first time that the St Etienne player has confirmed the talk. According to Perrin, Arsenal are yet to make any contact with the club.

"I was contacted personally. Arsenal are interested,” he told Le Progres. “But for now, there is still no contact with Saint-Etienne."

Perrin tends to play at centre-back but can also play at right-back and in midfield if required - a versatility that appeals to Arsene Wenger.

In other Arsenal related transfer news, the Daily Star are reporting that a £12m bid has been lodged with Roma for striker Mattia Destro. The forward has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past, even saying a switch to the Emirates would suit him. Whether the bid is from Arsenal or another club is not clear.

There are suggestions swirling around that Wenger could get rid of Wojciech Szczęsny, with the Polish keeper making some shocking mistakes this season. Petr Cech might be available having slipped down the pecking order at Chelsea, however Jose Mourinho is likely to be stubborn over selling the stopper to a Premier League rival.

Arsenal continue to be linked with Morgan Schneiderlin, despite Southampton insisting the want-away midfielder will not be sold in January. Gunners legend Ray Parlour has urged Wenger to make a move, saying "I'd definitely sign him".

EXITS...

Lukas Podolski's loan move to Inter Milan was confirmed by Arsene Wenger following Arsenal's FA Cup win over Hull City. "He is going to Inter Milan on loan,” said Wenger. “We got a decent agreement and of course I have so many options up front that he was frustrated will not getting a chance in the team, which you can understand at his age.”
