Southampton midfielder has hinted that he is interested in a move to Arsenal, but has stated that he has had no contact with the club.

The French midfielder was linked with a £15m switch to the Emirates last summer.

"I haven't had contact with [Arsene] Wenger. Clubs are interested in me but I've not given my word to anyone," he told Canal Plus.

While fellow French midfielder Yohan Cabaye moved from Newcastle to PSG in January 2014 but has since struggled for form, Schneiderlin, 25, says he wants to play at the highest level, and has not been put off by Cabaye.

"No, because I want to play at the highest level, Cabaye is an excellent player who joined PSG to win titles," he added.

"We players, we like competition. I think he does not regret his choice at all."
