Arsenal transfer news: Gunners braced for the exit of right-back Bacary Sagna to Manchester City or Chelsea - reports

Sagna is out of contract at the end of the season and has not agreed a new deal

Arsenal have reportedly conceded that Bacary Sagna will leave the club on a free this summer to join Premier League rivals Manchester City or Chelsea.

The 31-year-old's right-back's deal at the Emirates expires in the summer and he looks certain to leave after failing to agree terms.

Arsenal have a policy of only giving players over the age of 30 a one-year deal, but manager Arsene Wenger expressed his desire in February that he would love to keep the Frenchman at the club, indicating that he would be offered the longer contract he coveted.

The Gunners are reportedly willing to give Sagna a two-year deal, but he knows that a longer contract, on a bigger salary, awaits at the Etihad Stadium or Stamford Bridge. Internazionale and Monaco are also interested.

Both City and Chelsea have reportedly lined up £100,000 per week deals for the full-back.

Wenger revealed last month that talks had reached a halt.

"At the moment they [talks] are not progressing. We know what we want from him, he knows what is on the table and that is where we are."

"The ball is not in our camp anymore, it is in his camp, and he needs to come back to us."
