The Gunners are embarking on their pre-season tour

Arsene Wenger today refused to add to the speculation that Arsenal will return with a £40m bid for Luis Suarez.

The Gunners have already seen a £30m bid for the Liverpool striker rejected, however, it is understood they will return with an improved offer for the Uruguay international.

But Wenger refused to add to the speculation when asked about the subject in Jakarta.

"As you know the transfer period demands secrets and confidentiality, so I can't answer the question," he said.

Arsenal have arrived in Indonesia for the first leg of their tour of Asia. During the two week trip, the Gunners are due to play friendlies against an Indonesian Dream Team, a Vietnam XI and Japanese clubs Nagoya Grampus and Urawa Red Diamonds.
