15 August: Blackburn manager Paul Ince today took a thinly-veiled swipe at Manchester City over their pursuit of striker Roque Santa Cruz. "He has said he wants to stay. It's not right and it's not professional," said Ince. (PA)

15 August: Manchester City may make an increased bid for striker Roque Santa Cruz as their fragility in that department was all too appararent in a disappointing 1-0 defeat in their UEFA Cup qualifier at home to FC Midtjylland. (PA)

14 July: Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz has played down speculation he is seeking a move away from Ewood Park. He told Paravision TV station: "A lot of people said my transfer to a bigger club was about to happen, but I live in the present and I'm focused on Blackburn. I'm happy for the good season that I had and the important goals that I scored.
