At just 19 years old, new Arsenal signing Calum Chambers has plenty of time to develop into one of the best defenders in the Premier League. By the looks of his Gunners initiation though, he could certainly do with using that time to work on his singing ability.

The £16m latest addition to the Arsenal squad certainly has a high transfer fee to live up to given that he has only made 18 Premier League starts in his relatively young career. But as he joined up with the rest of the Arsenal squad ahead of today’s trip to a pre-season training camp in Austria, Chambers was put through his paces in terms of his singing ability.

Chambers elected to go with ‘Naïve’ by The Kooks, although his quick chorus with a bottle of water as a microphone was rather flat and nervy. Of course, the defender had a right to be nervous with everyone’s eyes beaming down on the newest addition to the FA Cup champions.

While Chambers became Arsene Wenger’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and David Ospina, his exit from Southampton has been a larger talking point over the past 24 hours.

Chambers became the fifth first-team squad member to be sold this summer following Luke Shaw’s move to Manchester United and Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren all joining Liverpool, and no sooner had Chambers’ move been announced by Arsenal than reports emerged linking Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez with an imminent move to North London rivals Tottenham.
