Carl Jenkinson to West Ham: Sam Allardyce claims loan move could be completed within the 'next 24 hours'

Arsenal right-back had also interested Hull City

Carl Jenkinson is set to complete at loan move to West Ham "within the next 24 hours", according to the Hammers' manager Sam Allardyce.

The Arsenal right-back had also interested Hull City, who wanted the player on a permanent deal, but it is understood the 22-year-old preferred to stay in London, and he also believes he still has a future at the Emirates Stadium.

It was reported yesterday that the Hammers were leading the way to sign Jenkinson, who has won one cap for England, and Allardyce claims the deal is edging close to completition.

"We’re interested in signing Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal on loan," Allardyce told talkSPORT.

"I'm hoping it's going to be completed in the next twenty four hours. We’re hoping that’s going to be OK."

Despite Bacary Sagna leaving to join Manchester City on free, Jenkinson's place in the Arsenal starting XI is seriously under threat this season after the arrivals of Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United and Calum Chambers from Southampton.
