Arsenal attacking-midfielder Santi Cazorla has announced that the Gunners must replicate Atletico Madrid's blueprint for success if they are to lift the Premier League trophy this season.

The La Liga club lifted the Spanish title last season for the first time since 1996 after disrupting the domestic dominance of both Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Cazorla has been linked with a move to Diego Simeone's side in recent weeks and, speaking to Marca, the 29-year-old implored Arsene Wenger to follow their lead.

Atleti had lost the talismanic services of Radamel Falcao last summer, while Real and Barca signed Gareth Bale and Neymar respectively, but their style of play was enough to see them triumph.

"Atletico are good example to follow," the former Malaga star said. "Atletico and Arsenal have to play the same way, but everyone is looking to win titles.

The FA Cup holders have been busy in the summer transfer window, signing Alexi Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers, but the Spain international is anticipating a tight season ahead in the Premier League.

"Manchester City are the current champions and will always be the ones to watch out for," he added.

"Manchester United are coming off the back of a bad season - but they will come back stronger this season. Having no European competition this season will focus their attention on the league.

"Then there's Chelsea, who have  made great signings: Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Courtois, who has returned but it's difficult to choose one, the problem is that there are many.

"I do not want to forget other teams like Liverpool, who went so close to the title last year, or Tottenham. I'm sure it will be very open and just hope that Arsenal are in the top group."
