Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claims that he has "no regrets" after deciding against re-signing Cesc Fabregas this summer.
Fabregas played like a man possessed on his Chelsea debut against Burnley on Monday night, setting up two goals in the 3-1 win, including providing one of the finest assists ever seen in the Premier League.
As part of the deal when Arsenal sold Fabregas to Barcelona in 2011, the Gunners were given the first option to re-sign their former captain, but Wenger opted against the move. The Spanish playmaker then signed for Chelsea for £27m instead.
"I have no regrets that Fabregas [joined Chelsea]," Wenger told reporters today ahead of the Gunners' match against Everton on Saturday.
"My only regret is that he left us in the first place."

Arsenal are said to be willing to pay his release clause, which is understood to be £6.5m.

Wenger, however, believes that Aaron Ramsey is more than capable of filling the void left by Fabregas.
"What is good in life is that someone moves out and someone else takes over and he has developed," he said.
"He is younger than Cesc and the potential is there to get more out of him."
