Cesc Fabregas transfer: Santi Cazorla hopes that Arsenal re-sign the Barcelona midfielder

Fabregas has also been linked with Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City

Santi Cazorla says that he hopes Arsenal re-sign Cesc Fabregas so he can play alongside his Spain team-mate at the Emirates Stadium next season.

Fabregas has been told that he is surplus to requirements at Barcelona and enjoyed eight years at the Gunners between 2003 and 2011. A buy-back clause of £25m was inserted in the deal when the midfielder was sold to Barca.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been linked with a £30m move for the player.

"I've read that he could go to Chelsea but I'd prefer him to come to Arsenal because he's a great player and they really love him there," Cazorla said.

"I don't know what his future is, but I hope that he will be happy and enjoys the team wherever he is.

"I don't think there's a big difference between Cesc's performances in the Premier League and La Liga. He's adapted perfectly to both leagues.

"His statistics are great at Barcelona but he's not valued the same as in England. There's no difference in his numbers."

Cazorla and Fabregas are currently away with Spain as they prepare for the start of the tournament in Brazil. Vicente del Bosque's team begin their campaign against the Netherlands on 13 June.
