Antonio Conte, the manager of the Italy national team, is the latest to emerge as a candidate to become the next Chelsea manager.

It seems a high-profile manager is linked with the Chelsea job almost every day, with Leicester’s Claudio Ranieri and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino both touted this week.

And today The Daily Mail report Conte is the leading candidate to replace interim manager Guus Hiddink at the end of the season, having met Chelsea officials before Christmas. They report talks will resume before the end of the season and ahead of Euro 2016 in France.

Conte was on the shortlist for the Manchester United job in 2014 before Louis van Gaal moved to Old Trafford. He has previously managed Juventus, winning three Serie A titles.

Meanwhile, Alexandre Pato is expected to complete his move to Chelsea today after completing a medical in London on Thursday.

The Brazil international’s loan move from Corinthians is expected to go through despite reports of the deal becoming bogged down over complications surrounding the forward’s loan fee.

Pato has agreed to a six-month loan to the struggling Premier League champions, agreeing personal terms and is set to earn £30,000 a week at Stamford Bridge.

Reports in America say New York Red Bulls centre-back Matt Miazga has had a medical ahead of a £3.5m move to Chelsea. According to The Sun, Miazga has completed his medical and could be available for their next Premier League match, against Watford.

The Daily Telegraph have firmed up on reports that Loic Remy will leave Chelsea in the next few days, reporting that Newcastle want to sign the striker if they fail to land Saido Berahino from West Brom. Remy is keen to leave Chelsea, and any move could be permanent or on loan.

Gary Cahill’s reported dissatisfaction at Stamford Bridge has sparked interest from Serie A, say The Evening Standard, with Roma considering a bid for the defender before the transfer window closes.

The centre-back has started only five games in two months and is worried his England place is under threat ahead of this summer’s European Championship in France.

The Standard report Roma, who previously signed Ashley Cole from Chelsea, want to sign Cahill to strengthen their defence, although the Blues will be reluctant to sell.
