Thibaut Courtois remains Real Madrid's long-term target to take over as No 1.

The giant Belgian may have only just returned to parent club Chelsea after a three-year loan spell with Atletico Madrid, but Los Blancos are likely to eventually move for him, according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial.

Carlo Ancelotti now has a surplus of goalkeepers in his squad, after Costa Rican World Cup hero Keylor Navas arrived from Levante.

Navas joins long-serving goalkeeper Iker Casillas - who endured a nightmare tournament in Brazil - and Diego Lopez, who has been linked with an exit from the Bernabeu despite being the first choice last season.

It is unknown which goalkeeper Ancelotti will elect as his No 1 next season, though he did confirm that Casillas would play in the European Supercup match against Sevilla.

El Confidencial report that Casillas, a club hero, is the most likely to be sold this summer, with a move for Courtois possible next summer.

Monaco and Napoli are believed to be leading the way for Casillas' signature.

Chelsea also have uncertainty between the sticks heading into the season, with Jose Mourinho seemingly undecided on whether to opt for Courtois or the vastly experienced Petr Cech.Casillas-1.jpg

Mourinho decided to give them 45 minutes each in the 3-0 pre-season friendly defeat to Werder Bremen at the weekend - the Portuguese manager still has four pre-season in which to decide before Chelsea start their Premier League campaign at Burnley.
