Chelsea youngster Thorgan Hazard has completed a season-long loan move to Bundesliga outfit Borussia Moenchengladbach.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who is the younger brother of Blues' star Eden, has agreed to join the ambitious German club in a bid to gain regular first-team football.

Hazard joined the Premier League title contenders in 2012 from RC Lens, and has spent the last two seasons on loan at Zulte Waregem in his native Belgium.

He was handed his Belgium debut in the 4-2 win over the United States after making a huge impression during his time in his native Belgium, scoring 16 goals in 48 games. Hazard's performances saw him awarded the Golden Shoe for the best player in the Belgian domestic league, as well as being named the league's most promising young player.

It was originally thought that he could spend next season in the Premier League after showing his ability while on loan in Belgium. However, with Gladbach in European competition next season, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and technical director Michael Emenalo decided that a move to Germany is the best option for the playmaker.

Chelsea confirmed the move with a tweet from their official account, while the German club appeared to be excited about the prospect of Hazard joining them for the forthcoming season.
