Southampton forward Sadio Mane, a known target of Manchester United's, is also on Chelsea's radar according to reports. The Senegal international has been an impressive attribute to the Premier League since arriving at St Mary's in 2014, scoring 13 goals in 44 league appearances. The 23-year-old is understood to be unsettled by the talk of a move this month, giving hope that a reluctant Southampton could agree to a sale.

The managerial change at Real Madrid has led to renewed speculation that Gareth Bale could leave the Bernabeu. Should that happen, Chelsea will reportedly be in the mix for his signature. Manchester United appear the keenest to land the Wales international, but Chelsea have the need and the finances to compete for the £75m-rated forward.

Alex Teixeira, who the Independent understand is a target for Chelsea, is reportedly on the verge of a £30m move to the reigning Premier League champions. According to The Sun, Shakhtar Dontesk and the Blues are in advanced negotiations over a £30m deal. With 22 goals in 15 league appearances this season, the Brazilian could provide the cutting edge Chelsea have been lacking this season.

Patrick Bamford has returned early from his loan spell at Crystal Palace, it's been confirmed. It's not yet clear if the 22-year-old will fight for a place in the Chelsea team or go out on loan again. Bournemouth are reportedly keen on the striker if he is allowed to leave.

Ulises Davila, who joined Chelsea in 2011, has left the club. The highly rated Mexican youth international spent most of his time at the club out on loan and leaves the club without a single Premier League appearance. The 24-year-old midfielder has signed a three-year deal with Mexican club Santos.
