Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes says it is ‘impossible’ that the Real Madrid superstar will leave the Bernabeu to join Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United.

The reigning Ballon d’Or winner has been strongly linked with a move after enduring an unusually goal-shy run which has seen him fail to score in nine of his last 13 appearances for club and country.

French league champions PSG are known to be interested in the Portugal captain, while Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed the club are looking into reuniting with a player they sold to Real for a then world record £80m in 2009.

However, Ronaldo’s influential agent and confidant Mendes has moved to quash the transfer talk. Speaking on French TV show Canal Football Club, he said: “It is impossible. He will end his career at Real Madrid.”

Rafa Benitez’s side have lost their last two fixtures, most recently with a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico, Ronaldo cutting a forlorn figure in what many believe will be his last home appearance in the iconic fixture. The crushing defeat left Real third in La Liga behind Barca and their Madrid rivals Atletico.

Ronaldo, who became the club’s all-time record goalscorer last month, is thought to be at loggerheads with the ex-Liverpool manager, reportedly telling teammates “either he goes, or I go.”

The 30-year-old has scored just eight league goals so far this season, after netting at least 30 in each of his last five at the Bernabeu, including an astonishing 48 in 35 league fixtures last year.
