A piece in the jigsaw puzzle that is David De Gea's proposed transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid appears to be moving into place.

Current Real Madrid No 1 Iker Casillas has been offered a possible escape route from the Bernabeu and, according to his agent, is enthusiastic about the potential switch.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Porto have offered the 34-year-old a two-year deal with an option for a third depending on appearances.

"An offer from FC Porto exists and Casillas is enthusiastic with that possibility," Casillas's agent Carlo Cutropia told Marca.

"Now we have to wait to see what Real Madrid say."

It's always been thought that having the pair of Spain internationals at the same club could prove tricky, despite Casillas having previously insisted he would be open to working with De Gea.

The other piece of the puzzle involves Sergio Ramos moving from Real Madrid to Old Trafford - a condition of De Gea's exit from Manchester United.
