'Edin Dzeko or Carlos Tevez?' - AC Milan coy over replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Following the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris
Saint-Germain, AC Milan are very much in the hunt for a new striker.
Confirmation of the Sweden international’s move to Ligue 1 came this afternoon, with the 30-year-old signing a three-year deal with the big spending French outfit.
As Serie A’s top scorer last season, the sale of Ibrahimovic leaves a big gap in the forward line at the San Siro. Coupled with the departure of veteran forward Filippo Inzaghi, it would seem certain the Rossoneri will be making moves during this transfer window.
There have been reports linking them with a swoop for either Carlos Tevez or Edin Dzeko, or perhaps even an attempt to buy both of the Manchester City strikers.
Milan's chief executive Adriano Galliani told the Gazzetta dello Sport today: "Dzeko or Tevez? Let's wait and see."
The Milanese club have also been linked with Genoa striker Mattia Destro, whilst it only seems a matter of time before rumours of a move for Arsenal wantaway Robin van Persie emerge.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is expected to cash in on the Netherlands international instead of allowing him to leave for free in 12 months’ time.
Should AC Milan enter the race to sign Van Persie, they can expect stiff competition from Manchester City and Juventus, who have emerged as the main contenders for his signature.
Whoever Milan target to replace Ibrahimovic, it would appear they are relaxed about the situation, with Galliani adding: "There's time to do so until August 31."
