Everton have joined a host of top English sides looking at a possible signing of Atletico Madrid’s young midfielder Saul Niguez, according to reports.

As well as the Toffees, who are considering a loan deal for the youngster, other clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are watching Niguez who has spent this season on loan at Rayo Vallecano.

Niguez featured in the Europa League and Copa del Ray competitions for Atlectico in the 2012-13 season before being loaned out to the third team in Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, where he has scored three times in 37 appearances this term.

The 19-year-old recently signed a new deal to keep him at the Spanish league leaders until 2018. This contract also has a reported £19.5million buyout clause.

Besides Everton’s proposed loan deal, city rivals Liverpool have allegedly held talks with Niguez’s father Jose Antonio.

Niguez has played consistently at all levels of Spain's national youth sides (under 16 to 21) but is yet to make full debut for his country.
