Hull have signed defender Anthony Gardner on loan from Tottenham.
Gardner joins the Barclays Premier League newcomers to improve his prospects of first-team action.
The 27-year-old joined Tottenham from Port Vale in 2000 and has made 144 senior appearances.
Gardner had hoped a move to Everton in January last season would revive his fortunes, after falling down the order at Tottenham.
However the centre-back, who won one England cap in 2004, could not force his way into the Everton first team and left Goodison Park without making an appearance.
He will spend the first half of the new season at the KC Stadium following the agreement with Tottenham, who have Jonathan Woodgate, Ledley King and Michael Dawson competing for places in central defence.Reuse content
