James Rodriguez transfer latest: Colombian forward not interested in move to Arsenal or Manchester United, as Premier League is 'too physical'

But the Colombian wouldn't mind playing in La Liga

James Rodriguez, the Colombian forward, says he is not interested in a move to the Premier League as it would be a "bit too physical" for him.

Rodriguez, who plays his club football for Ligue 1 Monaco after a £40m transfer last summer, has been one of the standout performances of his year's World Cup, with eye-catching displays and remarkable goals.

The 22-year-old says that he could see himself paying in La Liga in the future, as it suits his style of play better than the English top flight.

"I've said in the past that I’d like to play in Spain one day, because it is a league that is good technically, and where you get a lot of touches on the ball, which is my style," he said.

"The Premier League is maybe a bit physical at this stage. But I am a Monaco player and I’m not thinking about anything like that at the moment. I am now just concentrating on Brazil, which is going to be a wonderful experience for us."
