League One side Bury are interested in signing Leicester City academy graduate Joseph Dodoo on loan just hours after the 20-year-old scored a stunning debut hat-trick against them.

The Premier League outfit emerged 4-1 victors from the Capital One Cup second round clash at Gigg Lane as Claudio Ranieri continues his unbeaten start to life in the East Midlands.

Despite handing a first start to £4.8m signing Gökhan Inler and naming a side including Andrej Kramaric, Jeff Schlupp and Leonardo Ulloa, it was Dodoo who made the headlines.

"He's left a massive impression on us and I'll certainly be trying to chat to Claudio," Bury boss David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester.

"Forget his ability, I love his character. I love the way he did his work, went about his work and celebrated his goal. He feels the emotion of football and he looks a real threat."
