Juan Cuadrado hold-up - Chelsea transfer news and rumours: Enner Valencia swoop; Douglas Costa still on
The latest transfer talk surrounding Stamford Bridge
The deal for Juan Cuadrado is still fully expected to be completed despite a slight delay in his arrival from Fiorentina. The hold-up is due to work permit issues for Mohamed Salah report Tutto Mercato Web, with the Chelsea player going the other way on loan. Cuadrado, who was among the stars of the World Cup, is set to join for around £26.8m.
It seems that Cuadrado might not be the only arrival tomorrow. Chelsea have been linked with a deadline day swoop for West Ham striker Enner Valencia. According to the Daily Express Jose Mourinho is keen on the West Ham striker and could make a bid of £20m as he goes all out to beat Manchester City to the title.
Douglas Costa also continues to be of interest. The Brazilian has indicated his interest in a move to Stamford Bridge and would link up with former team-mate Willian if he did. The Express suggest he could undergo a medical on Monday ahead of a £20m switch.
Andre Schurrle looks certain to make his exit from Chelsea although Wolfsburg have revealed there are still some details to resolve. A fee has been agreed but other issues remain outstanding. "There is no agreement at the moment," sporting director Klaus Allofs told Wolfsburger Nachrichten. "The clock is running out. Our options are getting less hour by hour. It depends on money. We still would like to sign him." The World Cup winner will leave for around £27m.
