1 September: Liverpool have signed Spain winger Albert Riera from La Liga side Espanyol for an undisclosed fee.
1 September: Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin has agreed a one-year loan deal with German side Hertha Berlin, the Anfield club have announced. (PA)
1 September: Liverpool have confirmed the permanent signing of Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, who spent last season on loan playing for the reserves, from MTK Hungaria.
1 September: Liverpool full-back Steve Finnan has signed for Spanish side Espanyol on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee. (PA)
1 September: Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has added to the club's Brazilian contingent after youngster Vitor Flora joined the Reds on a free transfer. The club confirmed on www.liverpoolfc.tv that a deal has been agreed for the 18-year-old striker who holds an Italian passport and spent last season with Brazilian outfit Botafogo. (PA)
1 September: Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is confident the signing of Espanyol midfielder Albert Riera will finally be completed on the last day of the current transfer window. Riera is expected to tie up a move to Anfield today for a fee believed to be in the region of £8m. (PA)

29 August: Espanyol have announced on their official website that midfielder Albert Riera has travelled to England to undergo a medical with Liverpool after the clubs agreed terms of the deal.
27 August: Gareth Barry's agent has stated the England midfielder will stay with Aston Villa rather than make a late move before the transfer window closes. (PA)
26 August: Espanyol winger Albert Riera has been told by his club he has 72 hours to finalise his move to Liverpool. On Monday, club president Daniel Sanchez Llibre revealed two unnamed English clubs had bid for the player, with one side offering more money than the other. The club offering the higher bid is believed to be Everton, but Herrera confirmed on Monday that Riera was more interested in joining the side offering the lower bid. (PA)

22 August: Espanyol sporting director Paco Herrera has re-iterated there have not been any enquiries from Liverpool or any other club for winger Albert Riera. Riera is reportedly a transfer target for Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez, but Herrera, echoing comments he made earlier this week, insisted today they have not received any offer for the 26-year-old left-sided Spain international. 20 August: John Arne Riise has admitted he could not have played for another English club after leaving Liverpool. "I just wanted to make sure I got the best possible club. There was no way I was going to be comfortable playing for another English club, and I had plenty of offers from other clubs in the Premier League," he said.

15 August: Rafael Benitez has blamed the Liverpool hierarchy for the protracted Gareth Barry transfer saga. The Anfield boss, preparing for tomorrow's Premier League opener at Sunderland, was very clear that he still wants the Aston Villa midfielder. (PA)

10 August: Gareth Barry's proposed move to Liverpool has been thrown into further doubt after chief executive Rick Parry admitted: "The price quoted is too high." "There has been a lot of comment regarding our position with regards to Gareth Barry," Parry said on www.liverpoolfc.tv "This is not about questioning the manager's judgment or the ability of a particular player. The owners have clearly demonstrated throughout the year they are willing to back Rafa in the transfer market and will continue to do so. It is obviously the selling club's prerogative to put whatever price they want on the player, but on this occasion Liverpool think the price quoted is too high." (PA)
9 August: Rafael Benitez is still refusing to rule out the possibility that he could sell Xabi Alonso - despite the astonishing support the midfielder has received from Liverpool fans. But the Anfield boss, who also insists that "Liverpool are ready for the Champions League" next week, maintains Alonso will only leave now if the club receives a massive offer for his services. (PA)

7 August: Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has made it clear Yossi Benayoun and Dirk Kuyt will not be leaving Anfield this summer. Midfielder Benayoun has been linked with Roma, and the Italian club have been making loud noises that the Israeli will be joining them. Kuyt had become a surprise target of German club Hamburg, with a possible £16m price tag. But Benitez said today: "Neither of them will be leaving." (PA)
6 August: Steven Gerrard's thigh injury will almost certainly scupper any thoughts Liverpool had of selling Xabi Alonso to raise money for a Gareth Barry deal. (PA)
5 August: Liverpool midfielder Sebastian Leto has agreed a two-year loan deal with Olympiacos after being denied a work permit to play in England next season. The 21-year-old Argentinian, who joined the Reds from Lanus in 2007, was granted an Italian passport last summer but it was later revoked. (PA)
4 August: Liverpool will secure Gareth Barry's signature this week, following the concession of defeat by the Aston Villa manager, Martin O'Neill, in his summer-long battle to persuade the midfielder to stay.
4 August: Liverpool midfielder Sebastian Leto has been denied a work permit to play in England next season. Reds manager Rafael Benitez will now loan the winger out to a foreign club, but was hopeful that the Argentinian would return to Liverpool next season.

30 July: Aston Villa skipper Gareth Barry - a target for Liverpool throughout the summer - is to remain with the midlands club. Villa said in a statement: "This evening, Aston Villa can announce that Gareth Barry will be staying with the club following the interest from Liverpool over recent months." (PA)

28 July: Liverpool should complete the £18million signing of Robbie Keane within the next 24 hours. It is understood the Republic of Ireland international has undergone a medical today. (PA)

Anfield boss Rafael Benitez returned to his desk at the club's Melwood training complex today after a 10-day training trip to Switzerland and Germany, intent on finalising the Republic of Ireland international's £20million move to the club. 23 July: Liverpool have signed Spanish right-back Emmanuel Mendy on a three-year deal. The 18-year-old, from Spanish Third Division side Murcia Deportivo, is expected to compete for a place in the reserves.

13 July: Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has poured cold water on speculation linking his former Liverpool team-mate Xabi Alonso with a move to the Bianconeri. "Yes, I have talked to him," Sissoko told Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport. "And he told me he is happy at Liverpool." (PA)

Villa boss Martin O'Neill has made it clear since Barry became a Reds target at the end of last season that he will accept nothing less than his full valuation for the England midfielder. 4 July: Palmeiras goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri is set for a move to Liverpool, according to his agent. He told gazetaesportiva.net: "Palmeiras' board released Diego to negotiate with Liverpool and we are going to fly in to finalise the last details." (PA)
3 July: Philipp Degen has completed the formalities of his free transfer to Liverpool by signing a four-year contract. The 25-year-old Switzerland defender joins from Borussia Dortmund.
2 July: Argentinian left-back Emiliano Insua has signed a new three-year contract with Liverpool. The 19-year-old Argentina Under-20 international has made five first team appearances for the club - featuring in the final three Premier League matches of last season. (PA)
2 July: Liverpool claimed today they have not made a "final" offer to Aston Villa for midfielder Gareth Barry. Reports that a final offer of £15million has been made, with £2million to come depending on Liverpool's league position next season, have been denied by club sources. (PA)

1 July: Liverpool reserve Paul Anderson has signed a new contract which extends his deal at the club until 2011. The 19-year-old winger, signed from Hull in 2006, has yet to make a first-team appearance and spent last season on loan at Swansea as they were promoted from Coca-Cola League One.
27 June: Nottingham Forest have signed the highly-rated Liverpool youngster Paul Anderson on a season-long loan. Forest beat off stiff competition from their Championship rivals Swansea, where Anderson spent last season on loan, helping them pip Colin Calderwood's side to the League One title in the process. The midfielder played 36 times for the Swans, scoring eight goals.
26 June: Liverpool expect to complete the signing of Italian left-back Andrea Dossena next week. Chief executive Rick Parry has confirmed that a deal to take the 26-year-old Udinese player to Anfield is close to being finalised. Defender Dossena, who has been capped once at senior level by Italy, has been targeted as a replacement for John Arne Riise, who departed for Roma earlier this month. (PA)
24 June: Newcastle are ready to resist any attempt to lure James Milner away from St James' Park. The 22-year-old midfielder has repeatedly been linked with Liverpool and Aston Villa since the end of last season despite being under contract until 2011, although no cash bid has been received from either. 20 June: Juventus general manager Jean-Claude Blanc is still confident of signing Xabi Alonso despite Liverpool reportedly holding out for a higher transfer fee. The Spanish playmaker's move to Italy had been expected to be sealed on Monday but talks have stalled, with Liverpool said to be demanding 20 million euros (£15.75m) - two million more than Juve's offer. 18 June: Liverpool full-back John Arne Riise has wasted no time in meeting with officials of AS Roma after being given permission to talk to the club. The Norwegian defender landed in the Italian capital on Wednesday morning to open negotiations with last season's Serie A runners-up. According to reports in Italy, a four-year deal is on offer to the 27-year-old. (PA)

12 June: Barry has told O'Neill he wants to join Liverpool in order to play Champions League football and boost his international prospects but the Villa boss insists his club will not be bullied into selling. He told the BBC: "Gareth and I had a little chat when he got back from holiday and he has said he would fancy going to Liverpool. 11 June: The Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry has stepped up pressure on Aston Villa to allow him a move to Anfield. The England midfielder has phoned the Villa manager Martin O'Neill at the European Championship to plead for progress on the move and hopes a compromise deal can be thrashed out at around £15m. The Espanyol winger Albert Riera is another target for Rafael Benitez.
9 June: Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso claims he will not think about his future until after Euro 2008. The midfielder has been strongly linked with a summer move to Juventus. "I know there is interest (from Juventus)," he told El Mundo Deportivo. "But right now I not going to talk about that because there is enough to think about here with the national team." (PA)

29 May: Harry Kewell's representative has refused to comment on claims that the Australia winger is set to sign for Celtic. Reports this morning claimed the Scottish champions were prepared to offer the former Leeds player £40,000 a week to join the club. (PA)
