“Nothing [in it] at all,” he said of the Bogdan suggestions.

Paco staying put...

Liverpool target Paco Alcacer is set to sign a new deal with Valencia, according to reports in Spain. The 21-year-old is reportedly close to agreeing a new five-and-a-half year deal.

"There are still a few minor details yet to resolve after months of negotiations. But everything seems to indicate that fairly soon we will be able to announce that Paco Alcacer will be a Valencia player for five years more [from his current deal]."

Sterling work...

Chelsea are monitoring the situation of Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling, after the England international turned down the Reds' latest contract offer, according to the Daily Express.

Sterling previously had rejected Liverpool's opening offer of £70,000 and is reportedly holding out for closer to £100,000 per week.

Shaq snub explained...

Inter Milan president Erick Thohir says it was no surprise that Xherdan Shaqiri rejected the chance to join Liverpool in favour of a move to the Serie A club as he thinks they are as big a club as their English counterparts.

"Inter are a big club, no different from Liverpool: just the same. That’s why I’m not surprised that Shaqiri chose to sign for Inter," Thohir told goal.com

"We have a great history behind us. We won the Champions League three times and we are the only one in Italy that have never relegated from Serie A."
