1 September: Portsmouth have announced the signing of defender Tal Ben-Haim from Manchester City on a four-year deal.

1 September: Manchester City are to make a move for Tottenham's David Bentley.

27 August: Aston Villa have agreed a fee with Manchester City for defender Richard Dunne.

27 August: Vojvodina striker Danijel Aleksic is to spend a week on trial at Manchester City.

26 August: Manchester City new boy Joleon Lescott claims David Moyes' criticisms of his attitude are "inaccurate" but not something he wishes to dwell on at the moment.

25 August: AS Roma striker Julio Baptista is staying at the Stadio Olimpico, according to his agent, cooling reports linking him with a move to West Ham or Manchester City.

25 August: Manchester City expect to finally announce the capture of Joleon Lescott from Everton at some point today.

24 August: Veteran Brazilian defender Sylvinho has joined Manchester City on a one-year contract.

21 August: Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has not given up the chase for Joleon Lescott.

19 August: Everton declined to comment today on reports that Joleon Lescott failed to train with the first-team squad ahead of tomorrow's Europa League play-off with Czech side Sigma Olomouc at Goodison Park.

14 August: Manchester City look set to further test Everton's resolve to keep Joleon Lescott with an increased bid for the unsettled defender.

12 August: Manchester City are ready to make an imminent third bid for Joleon Lescott, despite Everton manager David Moyes' decision to reject the England international defender's formal transfer request yesterday, but will not up the stakes much higher with £22m likely to be their final offer.

12 August: Manchester City midfielder Martin Petrov is looking to leave Eastlands.

11 August: Manchester City are ready to move to bring their former captain Sylvain Distin back to the club, as West Ham's demands for Matthew Upson's services are proving higher than the Premier League's big spenders are willing to pay.

11 August: Everton have turned down a formal transfer request from defender Joleon Lescott. The 26-year-old England international has been the subject of two bids from Manchester City in recent weeks but manager David Moyes is determined not to sell.

6 August: Wantaway Everton defender Joleon Lescott is still in line to feature in tomorrow's home friendly with Malaga despite further claims he is on the brink of a move to Manchester City. There had even been speculation he would be unveiled by City at their fans' open day at Eastlands today.

31 July: Everton are bracing themselves for another Manchester City bid for Joleon Lescott but insist they will not sell the England international even for £30m.

31 July: Manchester City manager Mark Hughes insists players are coming to Eastlands for the prospect of medals, not big money.

31 July: Mark Hughes was defiant yesterday in the face of attacks from Sir Alex Ferguson and Martin O'Neill and said that Manchester City did not care about the criticism that their transfer policy has attracted this season. The City manager also said his club would bid again for Joleon Lescott after a second offer of £19m was rejected.

30 July: New Manchester City signing Kolo Toure has revealed his move from Arsenal to Eastlands has been on the cards for six months. The 28-year-old defender has signed a four-year contract with City after ending a seven-year spell at Arsenal.

30 July: Manchester City have confirmed that Elano has joined Turkish side Galatasary. The Brazilian midfielder decided to move on after falling out of favour with manager Mark Hughes last season

29 July: Manchester City have confirmed that Kolo Toure is moving to Eastlands on a four-year contract. The 28-year-old defender arrives from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee following seven years with the north London club.

29 July: Arsene Wenger has insisted that Kolo Touré's transfer to Manchester City is not done and dusted yet, although City remain confident they can push it through by the end of the week and take manager Mark Hughes' spending this summer close to £100m.

28 July: Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Kolo Toure could leave Arsenal as talks continue over a possible move by the Ivory Coast defender to Manchester City. Toure played for Arsenal last night in a pre-season friendly in Hungary but could move to City in a £15m transfer later this week.

28 July: So who's in, who's out – and what will your club do next?

27 July: Manchester City will turn their attentions to a £12m bid for the Arsenal defender Kolo Touré, after John Terry declared yesterday that he has decided against joining them.

27 July: England captain John Terry has ended his silence to dismiss all talk of a transfer to Manchester City.

26 July: Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Emmanuel Adebayor tried to drum up interest from Manchester United and Chelsea before completing his £25m switch to Manchester City.

26 July: Chelsea captain John Terry has confirmed he is "totally committed" to the Stamford Bridge side. The England skipper, 28, has responded to persistent reports linking him with a big money move to Manchester City by releasing a statement in which he insists he has never contemplated leaving Chelsea.

24 July: Sheffield United have signed striker Ched Evans from Manchester City in a deal which could cost up to £3m.

23 July: Barcelona head coach Josep Guardiola has dismissed speculation that club captain Carles Puyol could leave the Camp Nou this summer. Centre-back Puyol has reportedly attracted interest from AC Milan and Manchester City, but Guardiola expects the defender to sign a new contract with last season's treble winners.

20 July: The Premier League yesterday confirmed they had received no official complaint from Chelsea over Manchester City's pursuit of John Terry, as Mark Hughes continued his public courtship of the England captain.

16 July: Manchester City are still holding talks to buy Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal to boost their bid to break into the top four of the English Premier League.

14 July: Manchester City's attempts to load their squad with stellar players continued apace last night, as talks progressed rapidly with Arsenal on a £20m deal which would see the striker Emmanuel Adebayor partnering Carlos Tevez, whose move to the club has been sealed.

13 July: Roman Abramovich told John Terry that he will not be allowed to leave Chelsea and that the club will not match the extraordinary £280,000-a-week offer from Manchester City in a tense meeting between the pair on Saturday evening.

13 July: Carlos Tevez has been tipped to land at Eastlands since informing Manchester United he would not be making his "lease" deal permanent.

8 July: Brazilian striker Jo is likely to be involved in Everton's first pre-season friendly at Bury on Friday. The former CSKA Moscow striker, who spent five months on loan at Goodison Park from Manchester City last season, is with the Toffees at their Scottish training camp as the final points of another loan deal are completed.

7 July: Brazilian striker Jo is with Everton at their Scottish training camp ahead of a likely loan move being agreed with Manchester City. Jo, who scored five goals in 11 games on loan at Everton last season but was cup-tied for the run to the FA Cup final, is expected to have a season-long loan to the Goodison Park club confirmed shortly.

7 July: Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has admitted his interest in signing Manchester City captain Richard Dunne. Dunne is City's longest-serving player but could become surplus to requirements at Eastlands this summer with Citizens boss Mark Hughes chasing a number of high-profile defensive signings, most recently being linked with Chelsea's John Terry.

5 July: Another week, another unveiling of an expensive new recruit at Eastlands; last month it was Gareth Barry, last Wednesday Roque Santa Cruz, and now Carlos Tevez is expected to be confirmed, if not paraded, in the next few days.

5 July: The IoS transfer-merry go-round: a comprehensive list of players linked in the past week to your club; plus those who have signed on the dotted line.

4 July: Manchester City's pursuit of John Terry is not over and they are now considering increasing the pressure on Chelsea with a second bid for the England captain in excess of the £30m deal that was rejected on Thursday night. Chelsea are opposed to losing their captain but it is understood that Terry could yet opt to leave.

3 July: Barcelona president Joan Laporta has admitted to being saddened by the situation which sees star striker Samuel Eto’o pondering a move away from the Camp Nou. Manchester City are desperate to try and tempt the Cameroon international away from the European and Spanish champions, who have offered Eto’o an improved contract.

2 July: Mark Hughes is still hopeful of signing Samuel Eto'o.

2 July: Danny Mills, Darius Vassell, Michael Ball and Dietmar Hamann have all been released by Manchester City.
