Mats Hummels to Manchester United? Borussia Dortmund defender reveals he would like to play for the club in the future

But the German international doubts the move will happen this summer

Mats Hummels, the Borussia Dortmund defender, has revealed that he would be open to moving to Manchester United, although he doubts the transfer will happen this summer.

The German international is reportedly one of incoming United manager Louis van Gaal's top targets to help cover the losses of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vdic this summer.

After Germany's 4-0 thrashing of Portugal on Monday, the 25-year-old answered when asked if he would entertain the possibility of a move to Old Trafford.

"Maybe it will be some day, but I don’t expect it to be like that this summer."

Hummels, who picked up a minor thigh injury in the victory, says Germany can go all the way in Brazil, despite the heat and humidity.

"If we are concentrated and focused, both defensively and offensively, then we are a good team and that is the way we play," he added.

"If we can do that in every game, we are going to have a good chance to be very successful.

"The thing is to work as a team. If we work defensively as we should, then our attacking play is so good that we have a chance to beat every team.

"In the shade, it is almost perfect weather for football, but in the sun, it is a bit too hot."
