Chelsea have confirmed the signing of defender Papy Djilobodji from Ligue 1 club Nantes on a four-year contract.

The 6ft 4in centre-back, who has 12 caps for Senegal, has joined for a fee of £2.7million, having undergone a medical at Stamford Bridge on Monday - the deal will not affect Chelsea's desire to pursue Everton centre-back John Stones in the near future.

Chelsea have now officially announced the signing of the player through their official club website.

Djilobodji said: "I’m very happy to sign for a big club like Chelsea and I want to do my best to help the team win titles. I want to thank the club for giving me this opportunity."

The Blues also confirmed the exit of Victor Moses on loan to West Ham for the season, but announced that the winger has signed a new four-year deal at the club.
