QPR snap up 'local lad' DJ for £1.2m

Queen's Park Rangers have signed DJ Campbell from relegated Blackpool. The striker, who scored 13 goals in the Premier League last season, signed a two-year contract with the club he supported as a boy as they prepare for their first campaign in the top flight since 1996.
"This was my first club, from six to 16, so to finally be back here at the age of 29 is really special," said Campbell, who grew up near west London's Loftus Road stadium.
"There were other clubs that showed an interest but when I heard QPR were in for me it was an offer I couldn't refuse."
