Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has launched an ambitious bid to sign Samuel Eto'o on a free transfer with the former Chelsea striker's agent set to fly into London today.

The 34-year-old is looking for a new club after Jose Mourinho opted not to offer the Cameroon international a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

According to the Daily Mirror, Claudio Vigorelli, the player's agent, is due into England today to discuss personal terms on a move to the newly-promoted Rangers.

Despite receiving a number of offers from across the globe, Eto'o would prefer to remain in London and has sounded out Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. The Frenchman, however, is yet to show his hand.

Redknapp has already strengthened his side with the captures of Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker but clearly feels that the Londoners need more firepower if they are to preserve their Premier League status.

Wages could prove a stumbling block with the Loftus Road club looking to stabilise the books after the criticism they endured during their last season in the top flight.

Loic Remy, one of the signings made that year, is set to complete a medical with Liverpool and join the Reds on their pre-season tour of America.
