Radamel Falcao transfer news: Colombia striker 'has faith' that he can remain with Manchester United beyond the end of the season

Radamel Falcao has revealed that he won’t consider where his future lies until the end of the season, but claims he "has faith" in remaining with Manchester United despite his poor season in front of goal.

Falcao has found himself among the goals for Colombia during the international break, netting three times in the two games against relative minnows Bahrain and Kuwait, but he has scored just four goals for United since joining on loan last summer.

The 29-year-old looks set for a swift return to Monaco when his season-long deal with United expires, and the French club could look to cash in on the striker with reported interest coming from Italian champions Juventus, but Falcao has hinted that he could yet remain at Old Trafford despite the club highly unlikely to trigger his £43.2m transfer clause.

Falcao was asked whether he would be staying at United beyond this summer after scoring a penalty in the 3-1 win over Kuwait yesterday, to which he replied: “I have faith about that and when the season finishes I am going to sit down and think about my future and what is the best for my career.

“I think when I score it's always important and that gives me confidence,' he added. 'I said before I need minutes, I need to play games in a row and here in the national team I have had the opportunity. I gave my best and I scored and I now return to Manchester with more confidence.

“We have the last eight games, I will give my best to have the chance to play as many minutes as possible.

“I have said before I need to play, I need minutes and I am confident about me, about my fitness. I am confident.”

Falcao has also addressed the rumours linking him with a move to Italy by claiming he is fully focused on the job at hand in Manchester.

"Juventus looking for me? They talk a lot, but now I'm focused 100 per cent on Manchester United,” he told Colombia’s Radio Caracol.
