Real Madrid have made Liverpool youngster Raheem Sterling one of their top targets next summer.
The 19-year-old impressed during the Reds' title challenge last season, and turned heads with an eye-catching performance against Italy in England's World Cup opener.
Carlo Ancelotti will now have Sterling scouted for the next 12 months to see how he progresses, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Real Madrid boss sees Sterling as a potential superstar but will be patient in his pursuit.
The youngster, who emigrated to London from Jamaica when he was just five, scored 10 goals and had seven assists for Liverpool as they mounted a surprise title challenge last season.
Brendan Rodgers is also facing a fight to hold on to talisman Luis Suarez, who is attracting interest from Real Madrid and rivals Barcelona.
