Paul Pogba has congratulated Romelu Lukaku after his friend moved a step closer to becoming a Manchester United player.

The pair, who are both represented by the agent Mino Raiola, are currently on holiday together in Los Angeles while United and Chelsea vie for Lukaku's signature at home.

On Saturday morning, United confirmed that they had agreed a fee with Everton for Lukaku, with the deal now subject to the 24-year-old passing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

Shortly after United’s announcement, Pogba posted a video on Instagram of himself and Lukaku with the caption: “See you tomorrow in training @rlukaku9 #bienvenue #AgentP”

In the video, Lukaku says in French: “See you tomorrow in training.” Pogba replies: “What did you say?” Lukaku repeats: “See you tomorrow in training,” to which Pogba shouts: “Yes sir!”

United fly out to the United States on Sunday for their pre-season tour, which will take in games against LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake, Mancheseter City, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The club hope to have a deal concluded by Monday, which would thereby allow Lukaku to train with the rest of the squad at the University of California, Los Angeles on Monday.

Chelsea matched United’s bid £75m plus add-ons on Friday night but are expected to miss out on a player who Antonio Conte earmarked as a priority target.
