Saido Berahino latest: West Brom striker confirms he is staying with the Baggies

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has confirmed he will not be leaving the club tonight.

The England striker has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in recent months, with speculation rife that he was desperate to leave the Baggies.

He almost joined Spurs last summer and has been out of favour under Tony Pulis all season, with the former Stoke City manager said to have grown tired at his attitude.

Pulis said the 22-year-old has wasted "three or four months" of his career because of his attitude after the Spurs move was blocked.

Berahino was the subject of a number of bids by Newcastle on deadline day, with the highest bid said to be a whopping £24million.

However, Berahino took to Twitter to report he had no intention of leaving

In the summer Berahino caused a stir on the social media site by vowing never to play for West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace after they rejected a number of Tottenham bids - the Tweet was later deleted.

"Sad how i cant say exactly how the club has treated me but i can officially say i will never play (for) Jeremy Peace [sic]," he wrote.

Berahino only has six goals so far this season after scoring 22 in all competitions last season; he has started just eight Premier League matches this term.
