Arsenal are working on a deal to bring summer target Sami Khedria to the club in January, according to reports in Spain.

The German World Cup winner is in the final year of his contract with Real Madrid, and had caught the eye of Arsenal and Chelsea during the summer.

It was reported, however, that the Gunners then stalled on a £24m deal for the player because of his wage demands.

Spanish news outlet, Fichajes, have reported that the Gunners will resume their interest in the player in the next transfer window, at a lower price with his contract expiry looming.

German champions Bayern Munich are also interested in the player.
