Thomas Muller to Manchester United: Bayern Munich tell club to 'stop emailing' about the forward

Manchester United have been warned by Bayern Munich to 'stop emailing' about the availability of German star Thomas Muller.

The World Cup winner was the subject of a huge bid by United over the summer - reported to be around £60million - but the club's chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has warned the Premier League club off the 26-year-old, who has already scored 10 goals in 10 matches in all competitions for Bayern this season, plus another three in two international matches.

"I am not a banker. We are a football club," Rumminegge said on German TV station Sport1. "That is why we never even considered selling Thomas Muller.

"I told my colleagues at Manchester United: 'I cannot close down my email account, but you no longer need to send me anything. It is useless.'"

When asked about Muller’s availability in the summer, he said: "There are some players who don’t have any price tag. We would be out of our minds to sell Muller."

Pep Guardiola's Bayern are already seven points clear at the top of the German league after beating rivals Borussia Dortmund 5-1 on Sunday night.

Muller, who scored twice in that win, signed a new contract at the Allianz Arena last year which will keep him under contract with the club until at least 2019.
