Czech striker Tomas Pekhart, 19, has joined Coca-Cola Championship side Southampton on a temporary deal until January, while Spurs have extended Leigh Mills' loan spell at League Two side Gillingham for the same period. 26 July: Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has claimed victory in the race to sign Tottenham's Younes Kaboul. Kaboul, 22, looked all set to link up with fellow Spurs stars Teemu Tainio, Pascal Chimbonda and Steed Malbranque at Sunderland after boss Roy Keane agreed a fee for all four. "Sunderland and Villa both made fantastic offers, but the lad decided he wanted to come to Portsmouth," said Redknapp. (PA)

Palace chairman Simon Jordan was angered by a Football League tribunal ordering Spurs to give a £700,000 downpayment on the 16-year-old but there are other clauses that could see the total rise. The Barclays Premier League club will pay an extra £1.45million if Bostock makes 40 appearances for his new club and a full international debut. (PA)

At the same time, Manchester United, whose chief executive, David Gill, has returned from holiday to take care of transfer business, were informed that they need to bid closer to £30m to sign the Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov.

9 July: Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has slammed a Football League tribunal for deciding Tottenham should pay an initial £700,000 for the club's youngest ever player, John Bostock. The 16-year-old midfielder agreed a five-year contract with Spurs when his Palace deal expired last week but the clubs went to arbitration when they could not agree a fee. Jordan wanted in the region of £5million for the player but the tribunal settled on a fee rising to £1.25million. (PA)
9 July: Sunderland's search for top-class strikers continues today as speculation over Roy Keane's targets gathers pace. Talk of a £10million bid for Tottenham's Darren Bent has been played down on Wearside, although it is understood an inquiry has been made. (PA)
1 July: Sevilla have rejected an offer from Tottenham for highly-rated winger Diego Capel, according to the Spanish club.
1 July: Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone has signed a new five-year contract at White Hart Lane. The club announced this afternoon the 21-year-old, called up by England for the recent friendlies against USA and Trinidad and Tobago, has committed his future to the club until 2013. Huddlestone, signed from Derby for £2.5million three years ago, has made a good impression on manager Juande Ramos during the Spaniard's first season at the club. He made 43 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and featuring as a substitute in the Carling Cup final win over Chelsea in February. He also took his tally of England Under-21 caps to 26 before the end of the season.
News of Huddlestone's new deal comes soon after the club confirmed the signing of Italian youth goalkeeper Mirko Ranieri from Perugia. The 16-year-old is expected to play in the academy team next season. "Mirko is 6ft 2in and an excellent shot-stopper," said Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli. "His distribution and decision-making is improving all the time. "He is a highly-intelligent individual and another very good young goalkeeper we have attracted to the club." (PA)
27 June: PSV Eindhoven director Jan Reker believes goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is one of the finest players to represent the club and did not want him to move to Tottenham. PSV agreed a deal with the Premier League club last night and the transfer now hinges on Gomes agreeing personal terms with the north Londoners. "Gomes told me that he wanted to grab the chance, no matter what," Reker told the club's official website. He wanted to leave PSV on good terms to continue his career in England. Because of that we decided to proceed with negotiations with Tottenham. He is an excellent goalie and he has grown to become one of the best PSV players ever. We would have liked to keep him in Eindhoven until the end of his contract but he was clear that his future was not in Eindhoven."
26 June: New Tottenham signing Giovani dos Santos is adjusting well to life in London and insists his time in England will help him develop as a player. The 19-year-old Mexico international, who signed from Barcelona on June 10, revealed he was motivated by the challenge of playing in the Premier League and was keen to see more first-team action than he did during his time in Spain.
25 June: Hossam Ghaly hopes his chances of securing a move from Tottenham will not be scuppered by injury. The Egyptian midfielder faces three months on the sidelines after damaging knee ligaments playing for his country against Malawi on Sunday. Ghaly has been destined for the Spurs exit ever since throwing his shirt to the ground after being substituted by former boss Martin Jol in May last year. A move to Birmingham broke down last summer and he instead spent the second half of last season on loan at relegated Derby. The 27-year-old told told FilGoal.com: "I tore knee ligaments. 25 June: PSV Eindhoven yesterday confirmed Spurs have inquired about the availability of goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes. Gomes asked for a transfer shortly after PSV claimed their 21st league title last season, citing differences with managing director Jan Reker. Reker admitted the London club have been in touch. "Tottenham have informed us of their interest," Reker said in Eindhoven's Dagblad newspaper. Although Reker insisted a deal has yet to be struck, he hinted that it was close after revealing that PSV have drawn up a list of possible replacements.
