Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Morgan Schneiderlin trains with Southampton after apparent transfer request

The Saints' want-away star was seen at training today after row

Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has trained with the Saints today despite reportedly handing in a transfer request yesterday in protest at the club's reluctance to sell him.

The 24-year-old has been subject to interest from Tottenham Hotspur, managed by former St. Mary's boss Mauricio Pochettino, but his current club are resisting any pressure to sell.

The Saints have already sold Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers - but have informed the French international that he will be made to stay.

Schneiderlin, a France international who represented his country at the World Cup, posted a tweet last night suggesting he was unhappy with the situation.

He wrote wrote: "6 years of an amazing journey #saintsfc DESTROYED in 1 hour !!!(sic)."

He followed up that show of discontent with an official transfer request, according to reports, despite the fact that he has no release clause and a contract which is set to run for three more years.

Pochettino is reportedly keen for Schneiderlin and Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez to join him at White Hart Lane but executive director Les Reed and chairman Ralph Krueger are adamant that there is no business to be done.

“Specifically to Rodriguez and Schneiderlin, they will not be going anywhere," Krueger said.

“We see them as part of a core and the core we’ve got right now and in place is a core that is where Ronald would like to go and they a part of that core."
