Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew will meet with Joe Kinnear and Mike Ashley this week to discuss the club's transfer policy in the January window.

Pardew will use the rendezvous, which will be held in London, to pitch his January targets to Toon chairman Ashley and director of football Kinnear.

Club secretary Lee Charnley and chief scout Graham Carr are also anticipated be present, as the club place a new striker at the top of their agenda.

The Magpies' pursuit of loanee Loic Remy hit turbulence yesterday as QPR manager Harry Redknapp said the Frenchman's value had multiplied since signing the forward last January.

He said: "We paid £8million and he’s worth double that because the goals he’s scored in the Premier League."

Steven Taylor's future will also be discussed after the centre-back was linked with a switch to Cardiff City.

Newcastle have enjoyed an impressive season so far and find themselves in eighth place in the Premier League table - just six points behind the Champions League spots.

While the trio have been in regular contact this season, it is a rarity for them to meet in person.

"It's an important time for me, Joe and Mike to talk," Pardew told The Northern Echo.

"Lee Charnley is involved in that process as well, and us four, along with Graham Carr, will be having a couple of meetings during the month to bring everything together.

"We're all fielding different types of phone calls, so we need to bring everything together and see where we're at.

"We'll probably do that (this) week, then perhaps again towards the end of the window."
