Transfer News and Speculation: 16 June

Midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos is determined to stay in the Premier League next season. With Greece eliminated from Euro 2008 after their first two games, Stelios is hoping to face Spain on Wednesday before looking for a new club after being handed a free transfer by Bolton. The 33-year-old has been linked with a return to Olympiakos in his homeland but would prefer to remain in England. "I'd like to stay in the Premier League," Stelios said. "I've been there for the last five years and enjoyed it very much. I will try to stay in this League because it is the best in the world, simple as that. I will try to sort it out when the tournament finishes."

Fulham demand cash for Davis

Rangers will have to produce a cash-only deal for Fulham's Steven Davis after the Londoners dropped their interest in the Ibrox striker Daniel Cousin. Davis impressed on loan in Glasgow in the final four months of the season and is keen on a switch to his boyhood favourites. And Rangers will not be able to use Cousin as bait despite Fulham being prepared to sign the Gabon striker in January. Rangers accepted a £3m offer but Fifa, the world governing body, blocked the move as Cousin had already turned out for Lens and players can only play for two clubs in one season.

Moyes sets his sights on Riki

David Moyes is thought to be interested in the Deportivo La Coruña striker Riki, but the Everton manager may face competition from Bolton. Reports in Spain say the ex-Real Madrid player, 27, has told his agent to find him a club that will give him more first-team chances. Everton are also thought to be about to sign Manuel Fernandes from Valencia.

Keane prepares McGeady move

Sunderland manager Roy Keane is reported to be willing to break the club's transfer record in an attempt to sign the Celtic winger Aiden McGeady. The Republic of Ireland wide man, who is also interesting Newcastle and Tottenham, enjoyed a successful season at Celtic and was named the Scottish Premier League Player of the Year.

Ramos targets Hart and Coupet

Tottenham manager Juande Ramos is thought to be planning a move for both Manchester City's England goalkeeper, Joe Hart, and his French counterpart, Grégory Coupet with Paul Robinson's days at White Hart Lane looking numbered. The former England No 1 has fallen out of favour with the Spaniard. Middlesbrough have been linked with an approach and Ramos would welcome any interest. Whether City would be happy to sell a player who made his international debut against Trinidad & Tobago earlier in the month is another matter, though it is thought Spurs could offer a sizeable fee to the club and a significant pay rise to Hart. Ramos is believed to want an experienced 'keeper as well, with Lyons' Coupet a credible candidate.
