Despite a relatively slow transfer window, Manchester United sparked it into life when they completed the £37.1m signing of Juan Mata from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

That was quickly followed by the Blues’ acquisition of £11m Basle winger Mohamed Salah, who has already scored against his new club twice this season in the Champions League group stages.

With Arsenal and Liverpool yet to make a move, there could yet be a further twist to this season’s title race, while things at the bottom couldn’t be tighter.

The bottom 11 teams are separated by just six points, meaning 10th-placed Aston Villa are far from safe despite sitting just three positions off defending champions United.

So who could your team look to buy before the end of this week?
