Jordan Cousins, who scored the winner for Charlton Athletic against Nottingham Forest last night, has admitted that while it would be a "dream" to play for Arsenal, his first priority is to help the Addicks avoid relegation to League One this season.

Arsene Wenger has been sending scouts to watch the 20-year-old, who can play in defence and midfield, and the self-confessed Gunners' supporters impressed by scoring the only goal of the game at the City Ground. The England youth international signed a new three-year contract with Charlton back in October.

Cousins' 81st-minute goal moved Charlton to three points clear of the drop zone.

“I do support Arsenal,” Cousins told Standard Sport. “Obviously the Premier League is my long-term dream but the short-term is about keeping Charlton in the Championship. I’ve got two more years on my contract and I’m focused on that.

“Charlton give you a chance to express yourself and play in the first team and that’s what I want to do.”
