Striker Connor Wickham has joined Sky Bet Championship club Leeds on loan for the rest of the season, Sunderland have announced.

The 20-year-old has completed an emergency move to Elland Road after struggling to force his way into contention at the Stadium of Light since returning from a temporary spell at Sheffield Wednesday, where he scored eight goals in 11 games.

One of Wickham's strikes for the Owls came in a 6-0 derby victory over Leeds last month.

The England Under-21 international could make his debut at QPR on Saturday.
