Summer transfer window 2018: The 10 most expensive Premier League signings

The Premier League transfer window may be shut but there’s still plenty to follow as European clubs look to finalise their plans this summer, while the deadline day fallout continues to be revealed with the details on every move that did and didn’t happen leaking out.

Everton and Fulham got their cheque books out to dominate the headlines, with the Toffees landing Fc Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes, as well as Shakhtar Donetsk forward Bernard. They could yet sign Kurt Zouma from Chelsea on loan, with confirmation yet to come on the late, late talks. Fulham meanwhile broke their transfer record with the signing of Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa for around £30m, while Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Luciano Vietto, Sergio Rico and Joe Bryan also moved to Craven Cottage.

Then there’s Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who failed to sign anyone on deadline day – the latter becoming the first club not to sign a player in the summer at all since the transfer window was introduced – and we’ll bring you the latest fallout from the disappointing windows.

With the European transfer window still open, we will have all the latest news, late done deals plus all the latest reaction right here so don't touch that dial.

Barcelona are keeping up their interest in Paul Pogba, despite Manchester United making it clear that they will not sell the midfielder this summer.

Barca can still sign players for the next three weeks with the European transfer window still open, but with no possibility to bring in a replacement, United will reject any offer.

The Telegraph reports that Barcelona have "privately accepted" that decision, but will urge Pogba to push for an exit - potentially in January - to seal an Old Trafford exit.

Raheem Sterling left Arsenal in a spin yesterday as he guided Manchester City to victory against the Gunners, scoring the opening goal and claiming the man-of-the-match award.

But his future remains uncertain with the England international yet to accept a new contract offer from City, leading to suggestions that he could leave the club in the not-so-distant future.

But Pep Guardiola spoke following the win at the Emirates to stress just how "loved" Sterling is at City in the hope of him committing his long-term future to the club.

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is closing on a move away from the club after AC Milan expressed a desire to take him on loan for the season with a view to making the deal permanent.

The Sun claims that the out-of-favour Chelsea star, who was only signed to replace Nemanja Matic last season, is a transfer target for the Italian club, with the Blues willing to let him leave as he does not figure in Maurizio Sarri's plans.

Having seen Alisson come into Anfield and take his place as No 1 goalkeeper, Loris Karius could be offered a way out of Liverpool.

The Sun claims that the 25-year-old is a target for Turkish club Besiktas, who are considering an offer to take the German on a season-long loan deal.

Karius has not fully recovered mentally from his errors in the Champions League last season, leading to Jurgen Klopp's decision to sign Brazilian No 1 Alisson, and a year away from the media limelight of the Premier League could help him recapture his best form.

BREAKINGManchester United have announced that striker James Wilson has left the club to join Aberdeen on a season-long loan.

The forward suffered an injury-hit campaign last year that saw him miss most of the season for United, harming his development in the process as he was unable to leave the club on a short-term deal.

But both United and Aberdeen have announced that he has agreed to join the Scottish Premiership side until the end of the season, which should see the 22-year-old increase his playing time.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot has alerted a number of clubs across the Premier League to his availability after rejecting the club's latest contract offer in the hope of forcing through a move away.

The young French star missed out on a place in the World Cup squad after struggling to tie down a permanent place in the PSG first team, and with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season, he could be available on a free transfer in January after rejecting their lates offer, according to L'Equipe.

One club who has expressed an interest in Rabiot in the past is Arsenal, and with manager Unai Emery working with Rabiot last season at PSG, the Spanish manager could well launch a move to bring the defensive midfielder to the Emirates.

The summer proved to be a difficult one for Manchester United, with their three signings all coming early in the window in the form of Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant.

The likes of Toby Alderweireld, Antoine Griezmann and Gareth Bale were teased, but in the end not a single player arrived on deadline day, much to Jose Mourinho's frustration.

And now it's been revealed that United blocked a £100m move for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane over fears that Jose Mourinho was starting to waste their money. The Timesreports today that United put the brakes on the offer after Madrid stressed the World Cup-winner was not available for any price, leaving United without the centre-back that Mourinho wanted.

Tottenham were also strangely quiet on deadline day - even for them.

Having finished last season in fourth, many believed they would need to strengthen to get back to the title-challengers that they were the previous two years, but instead they became the first side since the dawn of the Premier League summer transfer window in 2003 not to sign a single player.

It has left many fans scratching their heads, but manager Mauricio Pochettino claimed the decision was "brave" and was a result of the new £1bn stadium at White Hart Lane, new training facilities and a consequence of the Brexit vote. As excuses go, it's a good one.

AS Monaco winger Keita Baldé's move to Inter Milan is drawing ever closer after the 23-year-old completed a medical with the Italian side. The Senegal international is expected to sign on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The move will see Baldé return to Serie A after his year-long stint at Monaco, having represented Lazio 137 times between 2013 and 2017.
