Manchester United winger Nani could be set for a switch to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur after the North London club made an enquiry for the Portuguese man last night.

According to the Metro, Tim Sherwood is looking for replacements for Fulham-bound Lewis Holtby and considers Nani to be the perfect choice.

United are believed to be willing to allow the player to leave for the remainder of the campaign, but Spurs face competition from Inter Milan to get their man.

It could prove to be an interesting negotiation as the Italians appear more likely to beat Tottenham's wage contribution while the Londoners are prepared to part with a larger loan fee.

Should the move be completed before the 11pm deadline, Nani could link up with his former Old Trafford teammate Dimitar Berbatov who is hoping to complete a switch to White Hart Lane also.
